Eff It

So for right now, until Blogger can get a better handle on the whole "private" thing, I am taking it off.

I don't know what happened, but when I switched it back on a couple of weeks ago, it seemed to have dropped a bunch of people.

And I feel really bad if people think that I for some reason locked them out - so for now, we are public.

And considering my irregular lack of posting lately, I would be surprised if anyone even read this shit anymore.

And I just need to regularly Google myself to make sure I am unfindable.

Hey, anyone else have ideas beyond Google? Any other search engines to find the unfindable? Just trying to erase myself....

set up google alert with your name and it will email you when someone does a search on your name

I like to think that google is the best bet to find yourself. I do the same thing, google my name every couple weeks...

But just in case you have to private again, I'm still reading ;-)

Hey...you are back! I was one of the lost ones. My rss feed just threw up like weeks worth of postings.

I loved the Thanksgiving pics!

I agree with the google alert idea. It doesn't pay to try other search engines every once and a while. They all search the web just a little bit differently.

Google is actually the most strict when it comes to what it ranks in its top search returns. Hope that helps.

Goah. I just wrote a comment and stupid blogger failed on me. And then I wrote something long on facebook (totally unrelated) and it failed on me too. Maybe I'm just not meant to slack off today.

Boo.

What I was saying was, I was reading! Yey! And if people got dropped, well, it's survival of the fittest, I say.

Hehe.

I am a regular reader and noticed that you went private and wondered why. Fortunately I didn't unsubscribe, so here I am.

Pardon me if you've answered this elsewhere, but why do you want to be unfindable? I'm asking, because I recently made the decision to go in the exact opposite direction and my life has become mostly an open book on the internet. It's actually kind of liberating, and it actually seems to add an element of accountability because I know people are watching.

I had problems logging in when you went private. Was the problem blogger or me??? Who knows.

Nooooooooooo, don't leave. Just go private again, I love coming into your blog to read your hilarious stories i.e., blowing your nose and you shot a turd out. This is what I am talking about, you are my therapy. You make me smile :)

If you go, I will understand, but I will be pouting for a few days and going thru M withdrawl.

Don't go dark! Pleasssseeee.....

Good ideas - I will do those.

Collin - I am a psychologist. And while I don't talk about the specific cases on the blog, I do like to rant and rave about my life, and I would rather not have potential clients read the maddness that often shoots from my mouth.

Kathleen - That's funny, because after I was reading your blog yesterday, I was checking my blog list and noticed you were no longer on there, along with Pharmie and Duane (but they both emailed me) - so between that discovery and a couple of other people telling me they were shut out, I figured fuck the private thing.

Jen - I am sorry! I didn't mean to make it sound like I was shutting down shop! I am just not going to be private anymore, that's all.
